Project X Case Study
Learn how SONITROL took on the challenge of securing "Project X" a 35,000 ft. cannabis facility. SONITROL not only exceeded state requirements but also providing the customer with the utmost peace of mind that their location is secured.
Customer
”Project X” – Kalamazoo, MI
Background
“Project X” is a cannabis cultivation and processing center which turns raw products into sellable items that are sold in retail dispensaries not connected to this site. SONITROL Great Lakes secures this customer’s facility at another location in Chicago and was asked to bid on this project more than a year before a recreational law was voted into Michigan.
Challenge
“Project X” is a 35,000-square-foot building needing full intrusion, video surveillance with recording, access control, and system failure backup plans. According to the law, constant video surveillance and recording are key to their business operation. Before this company broke ground, the SONITROL Great Lakes installation team was on weekly construction calls to be totally involved in any design changes to the building.
“Video surveillance and recording always working are essential to their operation so we made sure to offer any back-up solutions we could to get the job done properly.”
Solution
To fully secure “Project X” that meets Michigan law, SONITROL used video surveillance, SONITROL Cloud Access, verified audio and video intrusion detection, panic buttons, recording and back-up devices, and SONITROL multi-sensors. The project included 174 IP surveillance cameras, 8 V7000 NVRs, 70 doors of SONITROL Cloud Access Control, 16 SONITROL multi-sensor cameras, and several panic buttons. By law, this customer needed a video system with a health check so SONITROL utilized 32-channel NVRs and provided DVR recorders if any of their recording devices were to go down. This 35,000-square-foot facility is 100% video surveillance covered which meets requirements by the state. This customer can view their business at any time using the SONITROL Mobile App and can control what doors employees have access to with SONITROL Cloud Access.
