At SONITROL, we pride ourselves on being more than just a security company—our values rest in caring for the people who take care of everything else. We support the safety and security of the communities we serve and provide them with the peace of mind they need. Recently, one such story unfolded, showcasing these values and our commitment to safeguarding the lives we impact.
On June 1st our operator received an alarm accompanied by audio movement and immediately sprang into action, initiating our protocol to assess the situation. After calling the premise and the building owners with no response our operator called the police.
As the police arrived at the scene, multiple doors were found open, and they were alerted by our operators of additional alarm activity. As officers meticulously searched the building, their search yielded an unexpected discovery—a 5-year-old autistic child, reported missing, was found within the building.
Met with relief at the child’s discovery, the police then contacted the building owner and advised him to secure the premise and reset the alarm. Our operator alerted the police of the building owner’s expected arrival time, allowing for the alarm system to be properly reset and thoroughly checked.
The following day, a duty supervisor reached out to the police for additional information regarding the child’s welfare. It was confirmed that the child had entered through one of the unlocked doors and was thankfully reunited with their parents.
For us at SONITROL, this incident serves as a reminder of our responsibility to go beyond the expected, to anticipate the unexpected, and to be guardians of safety in an unpredictable world. At SONITROL, we understand that every second counts, and we measure our success by our ability to respond swiftly and effectively.
As a result of our operator’s actions, not only were we able to provide peace of mind to the owner of the building, and support the police involved, but most importantly impact the community and reunite a missing child with their parents.
